The silverbox is not meant for permanent or long time storage of silver nitrate solution or any other solution. Keep the silver nitrate in a separate bottle and only use the silverbox during the collodion process. The inner part of the silverbox should never be filled while removed from the outer wooden part. The inner part is removable for the purpose of easier cleaning. We highly recommend to first fill the bath box with water to check for any leaks. We always test every silverbox for leaks with water for 24 hours after it is made and again before shipping it.
